GRACE- I think will shed some light. Wow, the gift of God brings this fragile (looking) word yet in which great strength lies to mind. Had it not been for the GRACE of God toward mankind we'd judged Him harsh (though deserving). We see the Lord extending GRACE unto us from the moment Adam and Eve sinned and partook of the forbidden fruit. His fellowship with a creation made in His own image was broken and His was the plan to bring to restoration. A second chance if you will.
This reminds me of a quote I ran across a while back: Grace Experienced (MUST) Leads To Grace Expressed. Is it? We see the Lord was more than willing to bring us back into fellowship with Himself but how 'bout you now? The grace you've experienced, are you also extending it to your neighbor? Or have you so soon forgotten the grace which was extended to you? Have you adopted a heart attitude that it is rightly yours without ever a thought of Anothers' sacrifice? That you are more deserving of such a gift than your neighbor? And yet again the parable of the wicked servant comes to mind. You recall how great a sum he owed his king? Begging for mercy the king forgives him of all and leaves a free man. However, non too much later this servant finds a friend who owes him but a few dollars. Yet he demands payment be made and because it couldn't he had him thrown into prison.
Wow, what a staggering picture! Grace... Having received, have you withheld it from the very ones perhaps God is wanting you to extend it to? I will be blunt and say this is indeed difficult. It doesn't come naturally. The tendency is to demand/expect that God give it to us but somewhere along the way we forget that it's suppose to be passed on.
Grace. May we savor that precious word with which Christ reached out to us! Live in the grace which has been lavished so abundantly and may we see our neighbor in the same light. "For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke os slavery." Galatians 5:1 As we appreciate God's grace extended to us...let us also put our neighbor in our own shoes. Freely you have received...freely give!
For unto you is born this day...a Savior, which is Christ the Lord!
